About The Marple Band
The Band
The Marple Band is a traditional brass band whose home is the small town of Marple, just outside Stockport and on the edge of the peak district.
We do a limited number of local engagements, mainly concerts for band fundraising and some charity work. This reduced workload suits players who may not be able to commit to a full contesting band schedule. The objective is to enjoy playing at a good musical standard mainly for fun.
The Band is not contesting at present, but the playing standard is at around the second section level. We do not currently have a full band so are hoping to recruit some new faces through 2008.
Rehearsals
Fridays 8:00 to 10:00pm, Marple Conservative Club, Church Lane, Marple. (NB New location from April 2008.) Please contact us for directions.
